raccoom.net - where coding is nothing but fun

You've just reached the home base of raccoom projects, code and ideas. "Where coding is nothing but fun" is the maxim that describes best how the code and projects were created and also maintained.

Started in the early days of .net (beta 2) a lot of code have been written in all those years and of course not only during office hours. A lot of useful, useless and sometimes strange code was created during nights and weekends. Sometimes your're running your own projects to learn new technologies and methodologies and it takes quite some time 'till you can come up with something half impressive, take this into account when you browse the projects here

I realized early that communities are a very important aspect of understanding and learning a programming language. I've crawled (or should I say googled) codeproject and msdn thousands of times searching from terms like "What is an object" to "How to get rid of OutOfMemoryException" (As you can imagine at the time I faced the OutOfMemoryException I already knew and also had objects, in fact a lot of them).

I spend a noticeable time watching webcasts from msdn.tv, .net show and the very informative and sometimes funny channel9 videos. In other words I consumed everything that one could get for free in the net and it paid off in terms of my learning curve. So it was just a normal gesture to give the community something back and I started to publish articles and code.

What challenges me to write code "off duty" is building reusable and easy to use framework/infrastructure classes where you have to pay special attention to design and architecture, otherwise it's a mess for third parties to use and understand the classes ( anybody who has to use badly designed third party classes agrees on that, right?)

So, what is this web site all about one may ask? It's more than meets the eye, code updates, questions, feedback and donations in web UI disguise.

Enjoy
